The
Dunwoody Difference
| Our
Mission:
Dunwoody Village, a not-for-profit organization, provides residential
services and amenities, and healthcare-related services to individuals
over 65. Our mission is advanced in a manner that assures dignity,
fosters respect, and promotes quality of life for all resident
in a safe and secure environment and in a manner that is cost
efficient and effective. |
A special feeling starts
when you enter the Village and stays with you wherever you go. It's
a feeling of friendship, caring, respect and, above all, community.
It means having the freedom and security to live life at your own
pace. We call it the "Dunwoody Difference"...
It's about tradition...
The 83-acres of land that now comprise Dunwoody Village were once
rolling farmlands belonging to William H. Dunwoody, a Philadelphia
businessman. Dunwoody envisioned a community for older adults based
on the ideals of respect for life and kindness to our fellow
man. In 1974, the board of trustees responsible for Mr. Dunwoody's
will, broke ground on Dunwoody Village, a not-for-profit continuing-care
retirement community. Today, Dunwoody Village fulfills Mr. Dunwoody's
legacy, and is a community grounded in the ideals of caring, respect
and kindness.
It's about choice...
We believe that when individuals make the decision to move to a
retirement community, they do so for a variety of reasons. Some
want freedom from everyday chores; some want companionship; and
some look for attentive care that changes as they change. At Dunwoody
Village, we understand that unique individuals have unique needs
and wishes. Our philosophy is that "It's your life, live it
the way you want," and we work hard to provide a variety of
living styles, levels of care, activities and facilities.
It's about commitment...
The health and happiness of our residents is our top priority. It
is the commitment we made in 1974 when Dunwoody first opened its
doors, and we uphold that priority today. Each staff member is challenged
to provide the best care available, and to adhere to our mission
of respect, quality and safety. And in return, our residents are
committed to sharing with us what they need. Together, residents
and staff continue to make Dunwoody Village a better place.
