Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers play a valuable part in enriching the lives of our residents at Dunwoody Village and they bring a unique energy to the entire community. By contributing time, special skills, and a "caring heart," you can make a difference and enhance the quality of life of older adults. Volunteers are an integral part of our "total care" team.

At Dunwoody Village, volunteers have the opportunity to make new friends and to encounter new experiences, skills and challenges. Most volunteers commit to an ongoing number of hours per week or per month. Some find volunteering an excellent way to brush up on job skills before returning to the workforce and make a short-term commitment instead. We also encourage high school and college students to consider us for a work experience internship.

Depending upon your time, interests, and skills, Dunwoody offers a wide variety of challenging and fulfilling volunteer positions. Some typical roles include:

  • Friendly visitor
  • Dining assistant
  • Arts and crafts assistant
  • Palliative care visitor

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, we will send you an application package. A minimum commitment of three months or 40 hours is required before a volunteer will be accepted for placement. The steps to becoming a volunteer include:

· Complete the Volunteer Application Form Volunteer Application Form (click to download PDF)

· Meet with Human Resources to discuss interests and availability;

· Provide two references (not relatives), with names and phone numbers;

· Complete our clearance process; and

· Attend a Volunteer Orientation Program.

Submit your application online via e-mail or fax to 610-359-4449. We look forward to hearing from you!
